On this trail, you will find yourself moving closer to nature.

If you are looking for imposing rock formations, always wanted to know what walking on a bare foot path feels like or crossing creeks on treadstones, look no further. Apart from that, a Celtic sanctuary here or Roman castle there add some cultural elements, too.

Profile: several ascents and descents, suitable for hikers of average fitness. Please use appropriate shoes (need to be slip resistant).

Die Wanderung führt ausnahmslos durch das Naturschutzgebiet „Manternacher Fiels“. Im kühl-schattigen Wald wachsen seltene Pflanzen. Beeindruckend sind insbesondere die riesige Felsschicht an der Michelslay sowie die Passage durch das enge Kerbtal des Schlammbaches. Dazwischen befinden sich außergewöhnliche Fernsichten und ein Weinberg mitten im Wald. In einem ehemaligen Bauernhaus befindet sich in Manternach das Naturschutzzentrum „A Wiewesch“.

The Cloef Path features breathtaking views on the Saarbow from the Cloef and ‘little Cloef‘ viewpoints. There’s also a very nice descent through the romantic   Steinbachtal valley, followed by a stretch along the Saar river before the trail takes you up some steep serpentines to the Cloef viewpoint.

The Steinhauer Path features ten historical wayside crosses, old quarries and historical boundary stones. The idyllic valley of the Saarhölzbach creek is a place where time seems to have stood still. At the ‘Schönertskopf‘ hikers will be able to enjoy clear views.

Walking on winding paths, the Gorge Path takes hikers through a number of gorges, over beautiful sunken roads and through enchanting forests covered in liana vines. Walking on “Germany’s most beautiful hiking trail 2006“ is a real adventure for discerning hikers.

Vom Moselufer in Ahn geht es zunächst entlang der Weinberge steil nach oben in ein außergewöhnliches Naturschutzgebiet mit seltener Flora und vorbei an großartigen Felsstrukturen mit steilen Muschelkalkfelsen. Nach Wald- und Wiesenpassagen übers Hochplateau folgt ein Abstieg durch einen in Luxemburg einzigartigen Buchsbaumbestand, ehe man bei der Durchquerung des Donverbachtals das Gefühl hat, im Urwald angekommen zu sein.

This trail leads through the nature reserve Hammelsberg, featuring rare orchids and forests that are very rich of species. It meanders along the sunny vineyards of Perl from where you’ll be able to enjoy great panoramic views of the Moselle valley, Luxembourg and France.

‘Der Bergener‘ is a varied trail full of idyllic moments. It will take hikers to a number of atmospheric places, forest formations and open landscapes and doesn’t include any strenuous ascents. Ideal for beginners, leisure hikers and families with children.

 

Der Weg im Dreiländereck über den Stromberg, wo die Grenze zwischen Luxemburg und Frankreich verläuft, bietet traumhafte Ausblicke ins Moseltal nach Luxemburg, Frankreich und Deutschland. Hier können Wanderer grenzenloses Europa hautnah erleben.Seit dem 8. Februar 2010 steht als Symbol für die Öffnung von Grenzen ein Stück der ehemaligen Berliner Mauer am Moselufer.

On this tour you hike along river valleys and mountain paths through the nature reserve to high Medieval Castle Montclair . The lookout Cloef offers you a magnificent view of the Saar loop and the spectacular scenery .

This romantic trail offers varied landscapes, with orchard meadows, beautiful panoramic views, infinite calm and a very special experience of nature while hiking on the narrow trails of the Oppig-Grät gorge.

This trail will take you through forests and beautiful orchard meadows. The fruits growing here are the base for ‘Viez‘, a certain type of apple wine. Natural sights include attractive views as well as stretches of water and small rock formations. The trail features a high percentage of natural paths.

This is a short, largely flat and varied tour, suitable for untrained hikers. Highlights include a path taking you along the Losheim creek and the mysterious Rammenfels rock. Most of the trail is in the forest but includes nice views, too.

The ‘Hochwälder’ is one of the dream routes in the Saar Hunsrück region and largely runs parallel to the ‘Stausee-Tafeltour‘, the Saar-Hunsrück trail and the ‘Bergener‘ trail. It is characterised by varied forest stretches including lovely clearings and idyllic creek valleys.

The tour takes you dowm from the Hochwaldalm alp on 564 m to the Wadrilltal valley. Afterwards, the trail takes hikers up again along the romantic Wadrill creek and Lautenbachtal valley to enjoy great views from the ‘Alp‘ and a hearty snack.
