What you can expect:

Easy hike at a high level. Alternating trekking passages and flat stretches. You will stay in hiker-friendly hotels.

The hiking stages in detail:

Day 1: Arrival in Perl

Discover the only wine-growing community in the Saarland.

Day 2: Hike Perl - Hellendorf (approx. 20 km)

From the railway station in Perl, you walk through the wine village with its wine cellars and baroque garden. The Saar-Hunsrück Climb also runs through the cross-border Hammelsberg nature reserve on French territory. Over the ridge of the Moselgau with views of the Moselle, you reach the Roman villa complex of Perl-Borg and finally Eft-Hellendorf.

Day 3: Hike Hellendorf - Mettlach (approx. 19 km)

You hike along winding paths through a varied landscape to Orscholz. Here you can enjoy the view of the imposing Saar Loop before reaching Mettlach, the famous ceramic community.

Day 4: Leisure programme in Mettlach 

(e.g. boat trip through the Saar loop, St Lutwinus church with wall mosaics, shopping in the outlets) and/or departure.
