Church of St. Luitwinus

Kirche St. Lutwinus , Freiherr-vom-Stein Straße, 66693 Mettlach

Built in 1902 in Rhenish Neo-Romanesque style, this Parish Church displays beautiful examples of local mosaic art, executed with an artistic virtuosity that is probably unique in regions north of the Alps.

These depictions were mounted as mosaics of glass and clay pins over a period of more than fifty years. In addition to
these rare and beautiful mosaics, visitors to the Church can also see a reliquary cross that dates back to about 1228.
