Dagstuhl Castle Chapel
The chapel is particularly worth seeing. The façade features elements of the late Baroque style. Inside, works by Octavie de Lasalle von Louisenthal adorn the walls and ceilings.
The baroque hall chapel is part of Dagstuhl Castle and was built around 1763 by order of the lord of the castle, Count Joseph Anton von Oettingen-Sötern. The interior features an altar from the late Baroque period in southern Germany dating from 1743, which the count brought with him from his homeland. The walls and ceilings in the interior were decorated by Octavie de Lasalle von Louisenthal (1811-1890) with pictures from the life of Mary in the style of biblical history painting (1839-1880). Octavie's work can be categorised as belonging to the Nazarene school.
