Approximately 600 meters of tunnels and 4 shafts with depths of 10 to 18 meters were uncovered and provided with shaft structures. The underground tours present the heart of the mine with the light and sound installation “Mystallica”, such as the cathedral, the underground lake and the machine shaft. The copper smelter, built according to historical models, with a stamping mill, smelter and machinery can be visited above ground.
Regular tours take place on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. It is advisable to register in advance with the Beckingen municipal administration (during the municipal administration's opening hours 06835/550) or on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (tourist information in the Huthaus, TEL. 06832/800011).
From Monday to Friday, visits are only possible after prior registration at the Beckingen municipal administration: Tel. 06835/55-0 (Monday to Friday during the municipal administration's opening hours) or at the tourist information center in the Huthaus: Tel.: 06832/800011 (Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.). The applicable hygiene and behavior rules are explained to visitors before each visit.
