Saar-Hunsrück-Steig - 26th stage: Kell reservoir – Bonerath – Riveris – Waldrach – Kasel/Mertesdorf "Ruwer route"

We say goodbye to the lake at Kell and steadily climb through a beautiful stream valley into the Osburger High Forest. There we experience one of the highlights of the stage. We cross the moor at Rösterbruch with birches, peat moss cushions, and cotton grass via footbridges.
Then begins the long descent into the Ruwer valley, which first leads us through the deep forests of the Osburger High Forest. After crossing a road, we experience sensational views up to the Eifel until Bonerath. Then it goes through a atmospheric valley down to the Riveris reservoir.
A particularly large bench invites you to rest at the best view of the reservoir. Subsequently, we explore the rock formation “Langenstein” and reach the Ruwer valley, which offers a particularly beautiful section directly on the Ruwer at Waldrach. The goal of the day is the atmospheric wine villages Kasel and Mertesdorf.
