With our new mobile tourist information service, the Saarschleifenland comes straight to you: at popular tourist spots, at events and along walking trails, we offer on-the-spot advice, give you tips for days out and introduce you to our regional products – in person and always right on your doorstep.

The mobile tourist information service is a joint initiative for the whole of the Saarschleifenland region. Working closely with local authorities and tourism partners, we deploy the vehicle at various locations – from events and trade fairs to specific spots along hiking trails or at popular attractions across the region.

In this way, we pool resources, strengthen the service directly on site and present the Saarschleifenland as a modern and service-oriented destination.

Tourist Information on Wheels – flexible, local, sustainable

The mobile tourist information service is an electric service vehicle that operates throughout the Saarschleifenland and the Greater Region. It was acquired as part of the LEADER-funded project ‘Tourist Service and Offer Initiative in the Saarschleifenland’ to specifically enhance visitor services – particularly at weekends and at popular tourist attractions.

Instead of you having to go to the tourist information centre, the tourist information centre now comes to you: to tourist hotspots, events, premium walking trails or cycle paths. On the spot, you’ll receive up-to-date information, personalised tips and inspiration for your stay in the Saarschleifenland. 

Gourmet section: Taste the Saarschleifenland

One side of the vehicle is entirely dedicated to the theme of culinary delights. Here, we showcase selected regional products from the Saarschleifenland and bring the regional initiative “Ebbes von Hei!” to life. Depending on where you are, you can discover typical specialities, find out more about the producers and – where possible – even give them a taste.

In this way, we combine guest services with regional promotion and show you what makes our region so special in culinary terms.

Digital information, leaflets & personalised advice

On the other side of the vehicle, you’ll find everything you need to know about your stay in the Saarschleifenland:

• a digital information terminal with up-to-date information on places to visit, events, suggested tours and special offers,
• a selection of brochures, leaflets and maps,
• as well as personalised advice from our trained staff.
