Weiskirch ceremonial tombs
Haus des Gastes,
Trierer Straße 21, 66709 Weiskirchen
Magnificent exhibits from the 4th and 5th centuries BC.
In 1830, 1851 and 1866, three large burial mounds with rich, early Celtic warrior burials were found in Weiskirchen. Weiskirchen is one of the most prominent sites of Celtic archaeology with its burial objects of Etruscan import vessels and artefacts.
The exhibition in the Haus des Gastes shows the magnificent finds from the early Celtic graves of Weiskirchen as high-quality replicas and brings cultural history to life. On display are imported vessels, ceremonial weapons and costume accessories, outstanding creations of early Celtic craftsmanship in terms of design and technology, using gold, coral and amber.
