Chapel St Jakobus Keßlingen
Kapelle St. Jakobus Keßlingen
,
Kapellenweg, 66706 Perl
The small chapel has a late Gothic choir and a nave dating from 1769. The slender west tower has a neo-Gothic portal from the 19th century and a split spire with a tent roof.
A Roman gravestone serves as the altar table. Of particular interest is a group of oak figures depicting the so-called "Seven Sleepers". If the chapel is not open, the key can be obtained from the Hein family opposite the chapel. The Keßlinger Chapel is closely linked to the Way of St James through its patron saint, St James. In 2014, a group from Keßlingen travelled to Compostella with several tractors.
