Healing climate trail 5: Buchheimerweg

We walk from the Parkhotel to the left of the Kurparksee lake through the herbaceous garden to the Haus des Gastes. Here we turn right into Trierer Straße. After approx. 50 metres, we turn right into Marktplatz. Following the course of the road, we turn left into Forsthausstraße after approx. 300 metres. After approx. 70 metres, turn right into the street "In der Perch". We pass the Hochwaldhalle and reach the youth hostel. Up the hill on the right, we come to a small Mariengrotte, where we turn left. We walk straight ahead for approx. 100 metres and cross the L151. We now follow part of the Saarland circular hiking trail. At the first junction, we walk steeply uphill. At the second junction, which we reach after approx. 600 metres, we leave the Saarland circular hiking trail and keep left. We reach a large square where we keep half right and follow a hollow path that ends at a barrier. Behind the barrier, we turn left onto a path. This leads us to the Wildpark car park. Here we immediately turn right and cross the L 151. We go straight on until the path bends to the right. At the bend, we keep left and follow the snake path downhill. We come to a wide footpath, which we follow to the left. On this section, we see natural monuments on both sides - the Iltisfelsen on the right and the Hoher Felsen on the left. We continue straight ahead until the path turns off to the right at an acute angle. We follow this and turn left onto a wide back path. The path climbs steeply here. After approx. 300 metres, we come to a showcase where we turn right. We follow the path to the "Vier Birken" refuge. From here, we turn right onto a paved path downhill towards the Hochwald clinics. From here, we turn right onto a paved path downhill towards the Hochwald clinics. At the outdoor pool, we keep right until we reach the Holzbachtal valley. From here we walk along the stream. We cross Kirchenweg and walk straight ahead for a while. Then we turn into Burgstraße and before the bridge turn right into the Kurpark back to the Parkhotel.
