Saar-Moselle-Hochwald-Tour

The tour can be started directly from St. Johanner Markt in Saarbrücken. Cross the Old Bridge in a north-easterly direction directly to the Saar cycle path. The first section on the flat riverside path towards Merzig can be seen as a warm-up phase. Alternatively, you can also take the train to Merzig and start the tour right there. From there, the route becomes more challenging. From the Saar valley, the route climbs steadily uphill to the heights of the Saargau and then descends into the Moselle valley. After a short flat section on the Luxembourg side of the Moselle, the route returns to the Saarland via Rhineland-Palatinate, where a climb into the Hochwald forest awaits. Through varied hilly terrain, the route finally crosses the Saarland back to Saarbrücken.
