The farming village of Wochern

Wochern has won many prizes in village beautification competitions due to its active inhabitants and beautiful houses and is still one of the most beautiful places in Saarland. There is a lovely little square in the centre of the village and many old farmhouses are worth a visit.

The so-called Güth and Franziskus houses in Wochern are wonderful examples of Lorraine farmhouses, a type of farmhouse where people and animals lived under one roof. The Chapel of St Nicholas was renovated in 2013.
