Winegrowing village Sehndorf
Historic gem with a wet view
Sehndorf is a lovingly restored winegrowing village with old Lorraine farmhouses and stylishly restored historic washing fountains in the centre of the village. The historic village centre, narrow streets and views of the vineyards are what make it so attractive.
Impressive views of the Moselle valley - such as from the educational wine trail or the Panorama Trail dream loop
excellent wines and a cosy, historic village centre. Lorraine farmhouses and narrow streets characterise the townscape.
But more importantly, Sehndorf is a lively place. People meet for a chat in front of the house in the evening, drivers stop briefly on the street and the houses are well maintained. The centre of the village is still the old washing fountain, which always provides refreshingly cool water.
Young and old come together at the wine fair on Assumption Day in mid-August and at the Sehndorf St Mary's Christmas market on 1 Advent. Both events are organised by the Sehndorf cultural initiative.
Visitors from near and far can experience the charm and vitality of Sehndorf at the Saarland Wine Summer and the Wine and Cellar Festival and, of course, at any time during a wine tasting at one of the local winegrowers.
