Signposting:
The signposting on the Saar-Hunsrück Climb is "unmarked" and is checked at least four times a year by the trail wardens. The entire trail is marked with the logo. All prominent forks in the trail are equipped with signposts indicating the direction of travel and origin as well as the near, middle and far destinations. As the Saar-Hunsrück Climb is designed as a nature trail, it does not generally pass through towns. However, there are access routes that lead to the next village. A signpost at the start of the access route indicates the distance to the next village. In addition, there are now standardised information boards at many locations which provide information about the nearest hosts (telephone number, opening times, day of rest, etc.).
Closures or diversions:
If, for example, a section of the Saar-Hunsrück Climb is closed due to felling work in the forest, a diversion is automatically signposted. In winter, the trail may be impassable at high altitudes due to snow and ice.
Philosophy:
The Saar-Hunsrück Climb offers pleasure hiking with a trekking character at the highest level.
